Carol Thorns is a pioneer in the electric string genre. Renowned for her global performances, including opening for Vanessa Mae, playing for J Lo, and sharing an event with John Legend, she has crafted a unique portfolio of cello projects that have taken her around the world (The Bubble. CODA Africa, Rosanthorn, The Galaxy Dress, The Blossom Dress).
Carol is a 2 x SAMA nominee: Her solo cello albums ‘Sanctuary’ (2023) and ‘Fireflies in the Rain’ (2010) both earned nominations for Best Instrumental/Classical albums at the South African Music Awards.
With a Cum Laude Bachelor of Music degree from Rhodes University, she combines her background in cello performance and entertainment PR. Notably, her audio-visual show ‘Red Cello Electrified’ received a 4-star rating at the Edinburgh Fringe, the world’s largest Arts Festival.

Electric Violin - Renate Riedemann
Capetonian violinist-vocalist Renate Riedemann invariably achieves a mesmerising combination of visual and musical aesthetic, adding flair and poise to every event. Her performances are met with high praise from audiences and corporate clients alike. Renate studied at the University of Stellenbosch and obtained an honours degree in Music Performance. In 2020 she became a brand ambassador for Yamaha Music SA.
Former member of the SAMA award-winning instrumental pop group, Sterling EQ, Renate has made her mark as a sought-after violinist both in the classical and contemporary music scene as performer and session musician.
After discovering a new passion for singing, the UK songwriting duo Tony Hiller and Dave McGerty from Hyde Park Music together with Tania McGerty composed a song especially for Renate. Her independent release of the single “What Do You Say” received great airplay on several national and regional radio stations. She also released a single called “Another Storm” under the label StoneBear & Mayor Records.
Her voice has received great reviews by esteemed people such as Sasha Martinengo and Mike Batt amongst others.

Galina J is an exceptional electric violinist. Her musical flare and technical brilliance set her apart in the electric string genre.
Aside from her mesmerizing solo electric violin set, she provides leading edge performances by presenting her instrument in exciting and innovation new Speciality Acts – The Galaxy Dress and The Bubble/The Music Globe.
Galina Juritz studied violin under Prof Farida Bacharova and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Performance from the University of Cape Town. During her professional career she has performed with numerous orchestras, chamber ensembles, fusion bands, dance productions and guested with some of the country’s top solo artists. She has composed music for bands, chamber ensembles and short films, and often works as a session recording artist.
A popular choice for varied audiences, Galina J has performed at numerous high profile and international events. Internationally she has performed at top events around the world including the Seychelles, Dubai, South Africa, London and Geneva .
